How to configure outlook express for your e-mail accounts

Step 1

Open outlook express and go to tools then accounts

Select mail then choose add then mail

Step 3

Add your name. This is the name people will see in the from part of e-mails they receive off you. This can be anything you choose. Click next.
Step 3

Next add the e-mail address of the account you are adding. Click next.
Step 4

Next add the incoming POP 3 and outgoing SMTP server details. Click next.
Note: These settings will be provided by your web site hosting provider and they differ from host to host.

Step 6

Finally add your user name and password.
Note: Your user name and password are usually provided to you by your web site hosting provider. Some servers require Secure Password Authentication. If this is the case tick the bottom box.
Step 6

Finally click finish and the setup will be complete.

Troubleshooting

If you get errors while trying to send and receive mail then go to tools then accounts and then highlight the account you are getting errors on and click properties on the right hand side. Then make sure all details entered are correct under all tabs. Also try checking and un checking my account requires secure password authentication and my server requires authentication under the server tab. Also click on the settings button next to my server requires authentication and click log on using: and enter your username and password manually.
